New classes starting in May
Salsa, tango, bachata, rueda, ladies' styling

In the first week of May there are new series starting for salsa (five levels), tango (three levels), bachata, rueda and 'ladies' technique & styling'. You'll find the full schedule and the possibility to enrol online on www.leuvensalsa.com. These classes will go on until end of June. In July and August start the summer schedule (see elsewhere in this newsletter).

From May until end of August you can choose to pay your classes with a 'ten classes pass': with such a pass you'll take classes whenever you want, so you can go on holidays without missing anything you've paid for.

Sun sea & salsa

In July and August we organize three salsa holidays in Tuscany (Italy). These are combinations of an intensive dance stage (salsa, bachata, styling ...) and holidays (as in: sea, sun, trips, parties, good food ...).

Classes take place in small groups and in two levels with instructors like Paul Baarn, Carl, Talal, Georg Kapeller, Gaëtan Collaert, Aldona Niemiro, Fouad Agharas.

You don't need to enrol with a dance partner and as for transportation (getting there and moving around during the holidays) we'll help you organize that.

Discount of 5% for a group of three persons enrolling, discount of 10% for a group of five people enrolling.

Summer classes

classes all summer long!

In July and August there'll be six classes every Monday and Thursday evening: salsa, bachata and other classes. The classes will take place in the polyvalente zaal in Sportoase.

For salsa there'll be four levels (beginners, 2nd, 3rd and 4th level). The fifth class will be bachata classes too (open level) and in the sixth classes we will propose a variety of interesting things: there'll be for instance two classes focusing on spinning technique, there'll be a class on shines, an intro to merengue and zouk, a rueda class, an intro to chacha and salsa on2, etc ...

You'll be able to attend all of these classes when you want and without having to enrol thanks to the system with 'summer passes'. There are passes of 5 and of 10 classes. See elsewhere in this newsletter for more details.

Teachers of the summer classes will be amongst others Carl & Gaëtan.

Summer program

Classes, parties, practica ... and more

In summer we intend to propose an intense program: not only dance classes but also parties (indoor and outdoor), practise events ... and more!

There'll be parties in Sportoase on the 29th of May and on 26th of June (with the première of the show of the LeuvenSalsa! show team!) and there'll be parties in Sinfonia every first and third Friday of the month.

We will also regularly propose practise events throughout summer: next one is this Wednesday, 28th of April, 8 to 11pm! Place to be is Appeltuin, Weldadigheidsstraat 74, Leuven. There'll be several instructors of LeuvenSalsa! to help you when you want to be helped. Entrance fee is 3 euro. Open of course to everyone (students of LeuvenSalsa! or not).

Apart from the classes, parties and practica we will also organize outdoor parties and we hope we'll even be able to surprise you with some special events this summer!

Practise evenings

Why are practise evenings so interesting? I think that the atmosphere at such a practicum is different: people are not dressed up like at a party (usually ;-)) and you don't have the impression that someone is watching you ... A really great thing about practise evenings is that you get to dance with people from other groups, other levels and that's very exciting: leaders can finally check if they can actually lead those moves, followers can check how well they can follow any leader ... And of course it's a great way to get to know more people ...

The LeuvenSalsa! show team

Just a week ago or so the LeuvenSalsa! show team has started preparing their first show. Choregrapher and coach will be Gaëtan Collaert. Of course the idea here is not to set up a 'professional' show: the plan is more to challenge these 12 very motivated dancers to work a lot in the coming weeks knowing that on the 26th of June (LeuvenSalsa! party in Sportoase) it'll be the première of their show! The members of the team are Jan, Jan, Joris, Gaëtan, Frédéric and Frank (men) and Goele, Caroline, Anna, Ana, Sophie and Katrien (ladies). The clock is ticking, guys ... (just kidding!)
